First baptism
First baptism
Elder Hall has reported on his week. It seems it was a pretty good one! They had their first baptism since he has been in the mission field. He is very excited about it. But, here, read for yourself:
Subject: Miracles
Or just one really. This week has been a good one, but today I want to
concentrate on one investigator we have. Her name is Caitlin, she’s a
young mom of an adorable 2 year old, and her husband is currently
deployed, he’s a marine. We’ve been teaching her the last few weeks,
and she is amazing. Last Tuesday she had surgery on her back, because
a few weeks ago she fell down the stairs and messed it up.
The past week she’s been in a lot of pain, and hasn’t moved around
much, and she had a friend from Washington come down and help out
while she’s recovering.
On Saturday she had contacted us about being baptized. We talked about
next week, on a Saturday when most baptisms take place, she thought
that was too long.
Sunday morning, the bishop contacted us and told us that Caitlin
wanted to be baptized, so we talked to her and came over, talked to
her a bit. She has a lot working against her but she said she wanted
baptized as soon as possible, even though her husband wasn’t on board.
So we said 12:30, which as quick as we could fill the font. We had
Elder Kessler and Elder Mulipola from Logan North help us run buckets
of water back and forth to fill it faster.
We called our district leader Elder Hickmott to come do the baptismal
interview. We did it right before the baptism, which isn’t normal, but
this was happening quick. The bishop contacted a ton of people and in
an hour and a half notice the whole Relief Society room was filled
with people wanting to see the baptism.
Brother Andrews who performed the baptism, my companion Elder
Koroibuka (who was in the font supporting her back), Brother Hill a
nurse, and the bishop helped in the font, cause she can barely move.
She fell on the way, and the bishop gave her a blessing that she’d
feel no pain during the ordinance. She immediately felt fine and we
performed the baptism, it was great! The Spirit was so strong, it was
insane.
First baptism since I’ve been out!
More importantly she’s happy, she said it was the best day of her life.
Miracle really, great day, she’ll be confirmed next week.

We also had stake conference this week, and a good week in total but
that made it.
Be safe everyone! Have a good week!
