Elder Hall was transferred. His new companion is Elder Nichols. Searching the scriptures for exclamation points turns up some valuable lessons.
Subject: Oh That Men Would Praise the Lord For His Goodness
Hello everyone, I hope you’ve all had a good week.
I got transferred on Wednesday, so I am now with Elder Nichols in the Layton Stake. Elder Nichols is from Yucaipa, California and he’s been out about 16 months or so. Elder Johnson stayed in Roy South and he is now with Elder Peterson.
I really love it here in the Layton Stake. We don’t have any people we are actively teaching but there is loads of potential. So recently in my studies I’ve been reading through the scriptures and marking ones that have exclamation points. It’s really awesome to read the few that do. They are either super joyous or really sorrowful. Here are some of my favorites:
Alma 24
15 Oh, how merciful is our God!Psalms 119
103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!Doctrine & Covenants 18
13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!Psalms 107: 8;15;21;31
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!Isaiah 52
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! The Lord has blessed me with so much peace and joy that I really connect with these exclamations. We can all have that. Let’s all remember our blessings. Let’s all remember the goodness of the Lord.
