It was a slow week, but the elders are working with a couple of families. And a bit about aligning ourselves to the Lords’ will.
Subject: We Know That Thou Art Able to Show Forth Great Power
Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well! This week was good, a bit slow, but I’m so grateful for the people we work with and serve. We are still working with the Hills and Aguilars.
5 Behold, O Lord, thou canst do this. We know that thou art able to show forth great power, which looks small unto the understanding of men.
I love this scripture. To me it sounds like the Brother of Jared isn’t 100% sure about his idea to light the ships but he acted on his belief and his desire and his hope, and it was aligned with the Lord’s will. I hope we can all become more aligned with the Lord and keep all of his commandments. Keep trying.
“Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going. If you fall, summon His strength. Call out like Alma, ‘O Jesus, … have mercy on me.’ He will help you get back up. He will help you repent, repair, fix whatever you have to fix, and keep going. Soon enough you will have the success you seek.” (Jeffrey R Holland, from his talk Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders among You)
I would really recommend reading (or watch it) this talk it is really reassuring and nice. You can find it here: https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/tomorrow-the-lord-will-do-wonders-among-you?lang=eng
Have a great week!
